Reiki for Palliative Care
This is a subject very close to my heart. My father was diagnosed with incurable cancer, he died 3 months later at 46 years young. I can’t pretend to know how he felt given that diagnosis, but I do know he fought with everything he had, and he was surrounded with the love of his family.
I wished I was a Reiki Practitioner at the time to help him with his transition. Maybe this is why I learnt reiki in the first place.
Reiki is a gentle, non-intrusive Japanese Energy Healing Technique which helps to restore the natural balance within your body and mind.
Reiki is a very calming and a deeply relaxing treatment and is known to help with anxiety and fear.
Although Reiki will not cure illness at this stage it will benefit the individual to have a loving presence of a healing touch.
Reiki is known to minimise the side effects of medication and medical procedures and promotes overall relaxation. It will relieve emotional stress, helping you to cope with difficult situations.
I have added a link to the cancer research website for further information.
